Ipad 14.

  Hi everyone, ipad os 14 released to the public that meansit's available for all ios 14 supported devices which meansit's available for the same devices that supportedipad os 13. so if you have an ipad air 2 for exampleall the way up to this 2020 12.9 inch ipad prothey'll be supported and you'll be able to install it now this came inat a very large 3.99 gigabytes on my ipad probut it may vary depending on which version you're coming from but eitherway it's a pretty large install with somesignificant updates now along with this update apple also released ios 14watch os 7 as well as tv os 14 mac os big sur will be coming laterprobably next month now let's go ahead and take a look atwhat's new within ipad os 14 there are a ton of changes and many ofthose changes are carried across from ios 14and so in this video i'm going to cover just the changes that are specific toipad if you want to know every single changewithin this i have a 42 minute comprehensive videothat covers everything that's in imessage to safari tomusic and everything else so if it's specific to ipad i'll cover in thisvideo but if you want to check out my ios 14what's new video that's where i cover every single detail now as far as ipados if you're on the beta and maybe you're adeveloper or public beta tester and you want toremove the beta or you want to make sure that you no longer get updateswell it's pretty easy to do that you want to go to your settings withinsettings make sure you tap on general then go to profile tap on profile againand then remove the profile and then reboot as long as you dothat and you updated the other day to ipad os gmor ipad os 14 gm you'll have the final versionand you're good to go it's the same as the public version if you haven'tupdated yet well.

             you can update now and it's the same thingand so the first thing that's new are widgets now widgets have been here for awhile with ipad os 13 and before and so if we swipe in from the left andwe bring in our widgets you'll see there's some new ones such as batteryand a world clock and some suggested apps and stocks butthere's additional widgets as well and so if we go to edit and then we tapon the plus we have additional widgets includingweather so if we want to bring in weatherpress and hold drag it over and now we have weatherthis is not just weather though it's also a smart stack so we can swipethrough it and see different calendar events and itwill change throughout the day and let us know ofupcoming changes or based on what we're doing that dayso maybe you have a calendar event it will change to that calendar event whenyou're close to that time that the event occursand so you have that as well there's also additional widgets and if youscroll down there's new widgets but there's no appsthat have these new widgets yet or at leastthere's few widgets so you have to wait for your app developerfor whatever app you're using it could be a news app or something elseto create a new widget that you can use here so they're not available everywherenow unlike ios 14 these widgets cannot be movedaround the screen you can't move these maybe over to hereso they stay in this column on the left that you can either keep on your screenor remove altogether so you can change thatbut you cannot put them anywhere you want the other thing you don't get fromios 14 is an app list on ios 14 if you scroll all .

            the way tothe right you have a app list that actuallyorganizes your different apps into categories such as recently added andsuggestions you don't get that on ipad os 14. sohopefully we'll see that in the future but right now we don't have itso maybe we'll have it as an option later on now within ipad os 14there's many changes that bring consistency throughout the osand what i mean by that is apps like photos for examplehave a sidebar now and then if i go over to say musicwe have a similar sidebar this is true of other apps as well such as voicememos calendars notes files mail and contacts as wellso maybe we want to go into files let's go to filesyou'll see on the left it's the same thing so again it's consistency we cantap here and get rid of it but it's for consistency's sake it'svery mac os like in that sense so it's a little bit different and i thinkit's a nice little change now one thing we get that's new on ipadis lyrics now we've had lyrics before but now we get full screen lyrics if iplay this song i'll just turn it down hereand maybe we want lyrics we can tap on the lyrics and we get normal lyrics ifthey're not available full screen but if we go to a song that is availableand in this song you can see that we have full screen lyrics if we want themso you have this sort of lyric that's next to your music and then if wewant let's see if we can rotate it hereyou'll get full screen lyrics if you rotate to portrait mode so it's anice little addition if you want to use lyrics with yoursongs and use it full screen now search has been updated and it remindsme a lot of spotlight on a mac.

             so if we pull down or maybe we have a magickeyboard and we hit a key combination of commandand then space we'll get the same thing so if we pulldown here now we can search throughout so maybe wewant to search for apple it will suggest things as we type andthen we have app store because we typed apple we can just hitgo and it will open the app store or the apple store maybe we do the samewith safari we don't have to even type the entire word we can just typesaf and it will open if we hit enter this is very much like a map so searchis not only faster it searches more searches things that are relevant to youand gives you suggestions as well such as autofill suggestionsor safari or something that's in a pages document so it's been updatedand it's really nice if you're not used to it already i think you'll love itonce you try it out now there's a huge new update when youuse the pencil so you will need an apple pencil supported device so an ipad6 or so or newer and ipad air depending on the generation if your device workswith an apple pencil it will work with thisand they've updated what's called scribble so basicallyanywhere there's a text field you can write so if we go back to safariand then i tap in the top here i can write apple my handwriting is terrible see it'sapple.com it recognized i wrote apple.com andimmediately translated it to text then i can go and hit searchand then go to that website so if i want to write anywherei can and it's a really nice feature now there's additional things whenyou're using scribble so maybe we're in scribbleand i want to select something i can circle itor i want to put a different space we can draw a line it's a little bithard to do let's unselect here there we go we can draw space if we drawup we can bring it together so we'll bringthat back together space up up you get the idea it takes alittle bit of practice to get it right but once you've got it it works reallywell we also can scribble something out to erase itand it works very well it's super intuitive once you learn how to do itso it's just a selection issue from time to time now aside from scribble.

         we getsome great updates with notes and text recognition so if we go into notesyou'll see it says this is a new note and we also have the sidebarsimilar to what we have in other apps but let's go back into the full screennote and maybe we'll just write that this isa note so this is a note and you'll see it's very messyand if i double tap on it it will select the note and we can select all the textif i tap on it again i can copy as text then let's go over tosay pages here and then i can paste and it says this isa note it recognized that i wrote it copied it as text and allowed me topaste it in pages as text now i'm on a blank pagelet me write the word zolotek and you'll see that it's in the color rednow maybe i don't want it to be red but i wrote it like that by accidentif i press and hold on it and go to my pen optionswe can change the color to whatever we want so it works on any selected text orsquiggle or whatever you write so maybe i want to draw a lineunderneath and again that one's red i can select just the little squiggleline underneath and again maybe i'll change that togreen and you'll see when i tap off of it it's green so you have all ofthis written text selection character recognition and morethat i think is a huge update if you're using the apple penciland there's even more that you can do now in addition to just notes you cannow draw perfect shapes so maybe i want to draw a circlei draw a circle hold at the end let go we've got a perfectcircle if i want to draw a square i can do the same thingthere we go and you don't have to be perfect with it maybe i want a starmaybe a triangle you get the idea even a right angleit will do that you can draw most shapes andjust hold at the end after you've drawn it you can use your finger as well andit works on ios as well so you can create all ofthese different shapes so there's some huge updates for note takers as well asthose that just want to draw maybe our terrible writers but we needto take notes and then have it later translated into text i think that'sreally great now there's some other features as wellso let's go home and take a look at siri siri gets an ui design that's a littlebit different and also gets all the same knowledge and everything that you get onios 14.

             so if we press and hold how are you today how are you today it says i'm fine thanks so we've gotsiri in the bottom right as a text field and i think in generalit's pretty nice that they've just minimized it andwhile you're talking to siri you can also interact elsewhereso maybe let's go to the apple website so when you're in safari and you want toask siri something or have it keep a note or take a note what games are on tonight you caninteract with it while you're talking to siri so maybe we'll pickbaseball here and you can see you can interact withthem separately so it's really nice that way and i'm glad they've updated itone thing they've updated in safari that i talked about in my ios 14 videois privacy and so if you tap the two a's in your address bar and tap on privacyreport you'll see it pops up and shows what itprevented from tracking you so it says 192 trackers were prevented fromprofiling me so it's got a lot of nice prevention foryou you can see your trackers here see the different websites you visitedand others so it's really nice that it shows you that and then if you're on awebsite that has say a language you don't understandin my case that would be many but let's go tothis is the website i use by default because it's pretty easyi'll just go here it's peugeot.fr so we'll go tothe double a's and now you can see it saystranslate to english and so enable translation it will take a secondand then it will translate so there we go it switched and now it says benefitfrom our offers of the moment so it translated it to english so i canread it and this works with i think about 10 different languages at themoment and it may not work depending on where you liveso let's turn that back off you can just go to view original and it switches backnow there are not many other changes that are specific to ipadother than what's in ios 14 already however there's one that if you're usinga remote keyboard maybe you're using the magic keyboard you have an additionaloption for emoji so in safari maybe.

               I want toinsert an emoji when i'm talking to someonepress and hold the little globe now we've got an emoji keyboardand so it pops up when you're using a mechanical keyboard that makes it alittle bit easier because you don't have this emoji buttonso it's built in now if you're using that mechanical keyboardconnected to your device so it can be any keyboard just hit the bottom leftkey and tap in a text field hit it and nowyou've got emojis that pop up it's a nice little addition so withinipad os 14 you have all of the same changes that you get withios 14 unless it relates to say the phoneapp or phone calls or contact tracing otherwiseeverything is new control center all of the same settings it's very consistentacross both devices hopefully they'll bring widgets that youcan place wherever you want later on that would be helpful for a lot ofpeople and i think an app list might be nicefor those that want that as well but other than that there's nothing else newthat's specific to ipad but some great updates with scribbleand text recognition within within notes so that's everything new that's specificto your ipad on ipad os 14 if you have an apple pencil of coursethere's a lot more new for you and some really helpful featuresbut let me know what you think of this update in the comments below it'sdefinitely a bigger update for iphone than it is for ipad this yearbut either way i think it's pretty good so if you'd like to get your hands onthis wallpaper of course.
