HP Chromebook 14.

Hello. It's the HP Chromebook 14 q031ea. So we'll jump right into this and we will see you on the other side Okay so this is the Chromebook. We'll take a look around the outside and let you see what is inside it. Then let you see the specs then do my overall, general review on it. Okay so this is what the Chromebook looks like from the outside. I'll just let you roughly see what's on it. This is the front as you can see there's nothing, just where you open it up. On this side There's a USB port which is 2.0, a SD card reader and your power jack. On the back then there's nothing just your hinge. On this side then you have your security lock. A HDMI port and two USB 3.0 ports this is also a microphone in and a headphone 3.5mm jack out. On the bottom then you have your two fans, and these are your speakers. These then are your laptops feet so when the laptop is set down it gives it room up off the flat surface and protects the bottom of it as well. Okay so this is the Chromebook 14 q031ea opened up you can see it's a nifty thing when it's opened up. That's just your keyboard and touch-pad down there. As you can notice there's no actual physical buttons. This is all touch sensitive. *clicking on touch-pad* That's just a simply QWERTY keyboard and your screen which I will run over the specs later on. This is the laptop from side on. We will go ahead and show you the specs of the computer Okay, the laptop is turned off so we will just start it up and start the stopwatch just to see how long it actually takes to start up. I'll press the two at the same time. As you can see, 6.41 seconds. Because it's a Chromebook you do have to log into Google every single time you go on. You will have to enter in your password which is what you use foryour Google account. You can also browse as a Guest or add users if you have multiple family members. We will go ahead and browse as a guest. You get a warning coming up, I will let you see that The warning says there will be no cookies or history etc.. stored when you close it down. We'll just jump onto google.co.uk Just to let you see how quick it is. With the web address entered I will press enter, now. As you can see it is very quick.

We will just surf to MSN as I think it is always a good website to use. As there is a lot of content on it. As you can see it loads really, really quick! I have no complaints about it at all. I will show you closing this down, that is the laptop now turned off. I will just close the lid on it. As soon as you open it up the laptop will boot up itself. As you can see. Within a couple of seconds from a complete shutdown it boots straight back up again within a matter of seconds. It's always on. As far as I can see it doesn't affect the battery life. As I say you get between 9 and 10 hours  battery life so it's perfect for College or University. This is the Chromebook on the main desktop screen. Once you log in as a user you will obviously have more features. This is your stranded screen which you can change your background image. If you click down on the bottom left which would normally be your start button on Windows, you get your apps. Obviously when you log into your own Google account you will get a few more features like Google Drive, YouTube and more. Because this is only a guest I am only getting Chrome and store. You probably can add more apps. For people that would use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel etc.. Google actually has their own called Google Docs. It's basically the exact same features and everything else. You can as well save them and open them up in the likes of Microsoft Word if you end up changing computers. You can save them to Google Drive and go anywhere around the world and access that file, edit it and print it off from anywhere that you want. So keepthat in mind that basically when you do buy a Chromebook that you're in a sense only buying a browser. You're not buying a laptop which you can in a sense download programs. You are just buying a browser. As for viewing angles on this laptop, that is the camera directly on the screen as you can see. I will just slowly move it around to the side you can start to see that it does go a bit black as I move it around.

The brightness is turned right up so as you can see just about there sorta you're starting to lose the resolution. I will then just take the camera straight up. As you can see just about there that you start to lose it. It's not a bad screen. I am happy enough with it. The thickness of this laptop, which I know is very hard to see but it works out about 18.5 millimeters and then at the back and I know it is hard to see but it's about a maximum of about 21 millimeters. So as you can see there's not really very much to it and if you wondering roughly the thickness of the screen you're talking about 4 millimeters. There is absolutely nothing to this laptop as you can see. I only have one minor slight niggle about the Chromebooks. We also have another one that my mother got for Christmas. The only thing is that the touch-pads are very verysensitive and where were you tap on it you get your left click option. Now if I click on this *clicks* and this is your right click *clicks*. It can get a bit annoying especially if you're trying to click and scroll down the side. It can get slightly annoying but that is my only niggle about this laptop. It's just that there. I just wish Google had done as other manufacturers and put standard buttons down here or even made this slightly smaller and put their buttons in there.

I know they want to try and keep everything the same. It looks neater and all one colour and had two different left and right click buttons. Everything would have been perfect. That's my only niggle with this laptop That is my review on this little bad boy, I hope it was thorough enough for you.
